PEGGY MONTAG  Resident Services Director


Peggy is a York County native. She graduated from Dallastown Area High School and attended York Collage. She received her nursing degree from Sacred Heart Nursing School in Norristown, PA. Peggy has 35 years of experience in nursing and is also an EMT. Peggy has worked in all areas of nursing ~ from the Emergency Room to Personal Care. Peggy is the mother of three children and has three grandchildren. She is thrilled to be taking care of the residents who call Senior Commons home.. 

SHURELLA PERRY Memory Care Director


Shurella has worked in nursing over 22 years ~ and 19 of them in a Personal Care setting.  My passion is to bring balance to the lives I touch.  If I walk away and you are smiling, I have done what I set out to do!  Everyday is about learning and growing. I try to spread joy. Working with the elderly allows me to make a difference in someone’s life.  I love everything about it. As the Memory Care Director, I have the ability to make this difference in residents and staff lives daily. 

KATHLEEN SHAFFER Business Office Assistant


Kathleen is a graduate of Red Lion Senior High School. She worked in daycare facilities for five years. Kathleen began her career at Senior Commons at Powder Mill in April of 1998 as a housekeeper and was appointed to Business Office Assistant in October of 2003. Kathleen feels blessed to be a part of the residents' lives who consider Senior Commons their home. She loves being outdoors and spending time with her family.

DONNA SINGLEY Business Office Manager


Donna is a native of Ellicott City, Maryland and a graduate of Howard High School.  Her past experience includes working in the general accounting department for a major retailer and also in the business office for a nursing home.  She joined Senior Commons in March of 1987.  Donna’s interests include gardening, baking and knitting.  She is an avid Baltimore Ravens football fan.

KELLY BLESSING Marketing  Director


Kelly grew up in Lancaster County and has lived in York for the past 35 years. She is a graduate of Christian School of York, and has over 30 years of experience in Marketing. Her passion is to make a positive difference in people’s lives. She has been working with Seniors for the past 8 years and enjoys assisting families, seniors in helping them to make a better life. She loves doing things with her family and spending time with her little grandbabies… anything from hiking, biking, tennis, traveling or just being together.

AMY DETTINGER Director of Dining Services


Amy has worked in the food industry since 1975 and is ServSafe® certified. She graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College with a Culinary Degree in 2006. Amy has been providing services to older adults in personal care facilities since December 1999. She is also working towards her degree in business studies in her spare time.

BILL BEASTON  Maintenance Director

Bill beaston

I was born in Tacoma Washington and raised in the Shippensburg area in the mountains. Graduated from Big Spring High School. From a young age I was taught hard work, mechanical equipment and produce farming. Went into building trades, painting and drywall construction as interior and exterior Specialist for `14 years. I am now at Senior Commons as Maintenance Director. I have a son and daughter and enjoy being in the country.


Priscilla Mitchell

Priscilla was born in Middletown Connecticut where she lived for 9 years until her mother decided to relocate and explore the beautiful and tropical Island of Puerto Rico. She is Bilingual in English and Spanish and comes to us with 8 years of experience within the Long term care and Continuum of Care field. Priscilla is currently pursuing her Real Estate license and has 6 classes left to graduate with her B.S degree in Business Management with a minor in Organizational Leadership. She loves taking long walks, singing and is actively involved with the local community and her church where she has attended for the past 13 years. I simply Love what I do! I live and breathe to get up each morning and be able to make a difference in someone else’s lifestyle and quality of life!
